iN4iN Africa Network Workshop in Rwanda Ends Successfully

The iN4iN Africa Newtwork workshop was organised by iN4iN Ruhengeri in Rwanda.

The iN4iN workshop organised by the iN4iN Ruhengeri, Rwanda from the 24th to 28th April 2014 has ended successfully. The theme for the workshop was ‘Industry – Academic Relationship in Enhancing Entrepreneurship in Rwanda’. In his opening address the Rector of the INES-Ruhengeri, Rev. Fr. Dr. NIYIBIZI Déogratias, reiterated the need for industry and academia to build a sustainable relationship to foster small business growth.

The founder of the iN4iN, Prof. Dr. Utz Dornberger touched on the need for universities to partner with industries to share ideas. He was of the view that universities should be proactive in this regard and not reactive. He also emphasised that lecturers and professors who are engaged in university activiti
es should not just encourage others to start and own businesses but they should also be engaged in businesses to enhance their teaching activities.

Participants were also taken through tools for new product development, innovation and service management.  Presentations were made by entrepreneurs from the industrial sector in Rwanda.

Other participants at the workshop were representatives from the Rwandan Development Board, the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Education, entrepreneurs from Rwanda, coordinators of iN4iN Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Rwanda and a host of others.

The workshop was officially closed by the Vice Rector of INES-Ruhengeri, Rev. Fr. Dr. HAGENIMANA Fabien.
